This installation creates a fluid, ephemeral space using a hanging net of hand-painted Kibiso silk. The net is formed by intricate loops, hand-embroidered with a buttonhole stitch, without the use of a needle or substrate. The result is a delicate, weightless structure that evokes a sense of suspension and interconnectedness.
At its core, this project is about CARE. In an urban environment, participants are invited to step inside the space for a brief but transformative moment. Surrounded by the visual beauty of the silk and the soothing sounds of Himalayan Singing Bowls, Tuning Forks, and Chimes, the experience offers a short but profound separation from the high-frequency energy of daily life. During this time, the brain shifts from a high beta state to a more calming and healing alpha frequency, providing a sense of relaxation, clarity, and inner peace.
